Your Shot – Registration for Melb closes tomorrow

Registration has now closed in Sydney & Brisbane. Melbourne ‘Your Shot’ is this Saturday..

With over 650 registrations in Sydney & over 450 in Brisbane, the turn out so far for this year’s ‘Your Shot’ DJ competition has been incredible.
Interviews in Melbourne, will take place this Saturday 2nd June, 11am @ The Royal Melbourne Hotel.
Remember, registration closes tomorrow & you must register first.

What happens this weekend? Steve Pillemer (‘Your Shot’) explains below..

“We host an interview day in each state (Sydney & Brisbane happened last weekend, Melbourne in this weekend) and invite all those who registered to come in, introduce themselves and tell us why they want to be Australia’s next big DJ. One by one, our panel of selectors host brief solo interviews with each DJ hopeful (roughly 5 minutes) and asks them a couple of questions. The interviews are not formal or scary – we just want to get an idea of who they are, what makes them tick, the music they love, their passion and why they want to be a part of ‘Your Shot’. Once all of the interviews are over, our panel of selectors shut themselves in a room and painstakingly decide on the final 72 contestants in each state. When it comes to picking the final 72, it’s an incredibly hard process for the judges. No DJ experience is necessary to enter, so it really comes down to how badly we feel someone wants it.”

**Stay tuned for the next round which is the state events in July / August, where 72 will become 1 (in Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne – these 3 overall winners will play at Stereosonic 2012)
