PEATS RIDGE FESTIVAL

Peats Ridge is one of only a few camping festivals in New South Wales. The Festival offers a totally immersive experience of music, performing arts and culture. A world leading sustainable event recognised by the United Nations, Peats Ridge also has a dedicated eco-living education program as well as extensive environmental initiatives and awards. The Festival is also 100 percent family friendly with a dedicated Children’s Festival program for children and their adult friends, alongside family camping facilities.
Peats Ridge Festival is the first festival in the world to promote, and continues to advocate sustainability. It is also the first major Australian event to run solely on renewable energy.
The Peats Ridge Festival has been recognized on both a national and international level for its focus and achievement in sustainability. The Festival has been awarded:
Outstanding Greener Festival for The Greener Festival Awards in 2007, 2009 and most recently 2010
The Environmental Sustainability Award for the 2008 NSW State Government Green Globe Awards
Best Achievement in Sustainability for the 2009 & 2010 Australian Event Awards
Most Green Friendly award the 2009 FasterLouder Festival Awards
The Peats Ridge Festival is officially acknowledged by the UN for their work in Environmental Education and in 2010 is the founding partner of the UN Music and Environmental Initiative
ABOUT THE VALLEY
After driving down the winding dirt road from the front gate to the Festival, Glenworth Valley opens up before you. Flat green meadows framed by a two hundred metre high wooded escarpment seal the valley from the rest of the world. The valley is surrounded by pristine temperate rainforest home to countless wallabies, wombats, platypus, and lyrebirds. The tree-lined Popran Creek winds through the valley and the whole 3,000 acre property is sprinkled with shady swimming holes and banks perfect for lazing around.
