All Our Friends At Night – Music Festival
ALL OUR FRIENDS AT NIGHT IS BACK; WITH A BANG
ALL OUR FRIENDS AT NIGHT will be making a welcome return to the UC Refectory on Friday 5 October 2012 as 7 superstars of Parklife take to the stage. Turning the UC Refectory into a melting pot of the hottest international, national and local acts on the scene today will be CHIDDY BANG, JACK BEATS, HERMITUDE, RIZZLE KICKS, CHARLI XCX, PEKING DUK and OFFTAPIA. Presented by UC Live! and Pang!, All Our Friends At Night is getting ready to kick into its third year in style.
In their first ever Canberra show CHIDDY BANG promise to leave you with your jaw on the floor. Coming off the success of their debut album ‘Breakfast’ the hip-hop duo has set a trail blazing through the music world. Hits such as ‘Ray Charles’, ‘Opposite of Adults’, and recent entrant into the ARIA Top 40 ‘Mind Your Manners’ combine traditional hip-hop roots with genre and era bending style and class; providing a completely unique, completely new sound.
With a couple of world records to their name, thousands of fans and a live show that manages to ooze swagger and energy all at once, Chiddy Bang are an act not to be missed.
Making their return to the nation’s capital, multiple award winning duo JACK BEATS are set to explode back into the scene they revolutionized. Citing influences spanning right from Timbaland to Rage Against the Machine, the two have honed a cutting edge sound fusing House, Hip Hop and Dubstep with Electro and Drum & Bass. Having played at every major club and festival around the world to crowds of up to 80,000 party goers, Jack Beats are ready to kick off all over again for a set of dirty beats and intensity from start to finish.
Blue Mountain boys HERMITUDE have made themselves the hottest name on any punter’s tongue, carved out of hard work and slamming party jams. Formed in 2001 through a love of beats and turntablism the group has grown into a monster of the Australian music scene with their massively summery track “Speak of the Devil”picking up several hundred thousand YouTube views and a J-Award in the process. With many Canberrans’ ears still ringing from their last set at Groovin The Moo, the duo areset to get your fists in the air yet again at All Our Friends At Night.
Exploding out of the UK music scene, British pop-rap duo RIZZLE KICKS are the most exciting act to have emerged in the genre, period. Having sold over 300,000 albums and over a million singles in less than a year, notto mention tens of millions of hits on YouTube, the group is unstoppable. Combining the fattest, freshest and funkiestbeats with intelligent ideas and a massive live show; the duo are certain to whip the UC Refectory crowd into an absolute frenzy and have every punter leave their new biggest fan.
In her first ever Australian shows CHARLI XCX is a girl on a mission; to reboot the girl power movement… this time with an edge. Breathing fresh air into the scene through raw multi-layered performances, Charli XCX isa lightning rod of pop music channeling blissed out synths, fuzzy melodies and richly immersive music. Before she drops her debut album later this year she intends to ride hervendetta of reviving pop through our fair city; guaranteeing that if there is one person you won’t be able to ignore in 2012, it’s Charli XCX.
Easily one of the biggest sounds breaking out of Canberra right now, PEKING DUK are leaving their mark on the underground music scene and with support from musicheavyweights such as Steve Aoki and MSTRKRFT it’s a certainty many more will be savouring the flavour of Peking Duk in years to come. Having scored themselves a slot on the Parklife line-up the local boys have guaranteed to ensure their hometown fans won’t miss out onthe party when they open the stage at All Our Friends At Night.
Sex filled house and deep, dirty, funky beats are associated primarily with one Canberra man more thanany other: OFFTAPIA. Having played some of the biggest festivals around Australia, supported some of the world’s biggest acts and set dance floors alight too many times to count Offtapia is a certainty to keep the party going at All Our Friends At Night in a stylish fashion.
In 2012, All Our Friends At Night enters its third year of being one of the biggest events on any Canberran’s calendar. Having brought the best quality acts in dance and hip-hop to Canberra including Steve Aoki, Example and Nero; this year’s line-up is certain to ensure the event’s great heritage is only bolstered.
With such a stellar line up of huge beats, massive energy and fresh new sounds All Our Friends At Night is an event not to be missed.
